My 'new' Uncle Bryan Murphy

Uncle Bryan is our dads' brother from another mother.  I was thrilled to meet him and his lovely wife Robyn on Wednesday this week.  Huge thanks to my cousins Bryre Eason and Drew Milligan for organising and bringing them to get together for the first time in our WHOLE lives. Mwah!

Cyril Graham Murphy (Bubbles)

Cyril is the baby shown in this photo with his brothers Doug and Mal.  He was the dad of Linda (Barnes) Karen (Murphy) and Ellen Corfield.

Late 2016 I was very lucky to spend time with my brother Glen and sister Jo - here we are in a selfie.  As we all live so far from each other this is an especially precious moment.

Updates

I think I have been a bit slack with updates here since my last move.  I came to work and live in Johor, Malaysia on May 26 this year as an Education Advisor to government primary and secondary schools.  The programme is called 'Trust Schools' and the contract is through Yayasin Amir (hope I spelt that right) and Kazanah. The people here are absolutely lovely, and the food is too but I have had to restrain myself a bit with it as I piled on weight in the first couple of weeks I was here!

3 very lucky men, that Bert fletcher was there with his horse. (they were caught in a net and Bert Fletcher rescued them). Julie and Don Tibby have the original newspaper report with a large photo of them there with Mr Fletcher on the horse. As Don’s father Stan Tibby said in the news report if it hadn’t been for Mr Fletcher there is no doubt the 3 men would have lost their lives. There are more details as to how it happened. Uncle Laddie whose name is Lionel John Richards is Aunty Hazel’s twin brother both born in Australia. They have got the names around the wrong way in the horse photo .

In the family photo Nana Tibby, Rita is standing at the centre back holding Mavis in her arms. The accident happened in August 1927 so Mavis would have been 17mths old and Shirley nearly 6 and your Mum 3 1/2. The lady holding the baby in the shawl is Aunty Hazel, Laddie’s twin sister. She and her husband were there that day he helped to take of Pop Tibby.  Shirley and Dawn are standing in the front at the right of the picture. Laddie was not married then. 

Baby Marlowe

A new addition to our Murphy clan - baby Marlowe was born to Abby Stewart and Nick Erickson, Feb 11 2013. Welcome to our world little girl.

Just a quick update with some pics of our current hometown in Al Ruwais - Abu Dhabi, UAE. I am teaching at the Glenelg School of Abu Dhabi here - Middle School English and Social Studies at the moment.
